Radio
Elliott
has been working continually in radio for over fifteen years
and is currently the Breakfast Show host for the GCAP Media owned
BRMB in Birmingham, filling the giant shoes left by radio legend
Les Ross in 2001.
Prior to this he presented several other flagship
breakfast shows around the UK including Galaxy in Bristol for
Chrysalis Radio and The Pulse of West Yorkshire for the Metro
Radio Group.
Notoriety came Elliott’s way in 1999 when he
presented the “blind wedding” contest “Two
Strangers and a Wedding” where couples competed to win
the chance to marry a complete stranger. Carla and Greg were
the chosen ones and tied the knot having met only minutes before.
The contest caused a sensation and was the subject of two networked
ITV documentaries and acres of press coverage. Despite the failure
of this marriage Elliott hosted the sequel in 2006, unfortunately
with a similar outcome. Needless to say he is a better broadcaster
than matchmaker!
Elliott has also covered presenting duties for
the nationally broadcast chart show “Hit 40 UK”,
the Capital produced and networked weekly entertainment show “Seven” and
the Capital FM weekend Breakfast Show.
Other highlights in an
extremely varied radio career include interviewing
the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, winning silver and bronze in the prestigious
New York Radio Awards in 2005 and stitching up X-Factor’s
Louis Walsh in a prank call with Westlife. This ‘Phone
Tap’ as they were called also won recognition
with a GCAP Media award in 2005.
In April 2007 the BRMB Breakfast
show won Silver in the Interactive Show category of the Sony
Radio Awards.

Voice-over
From used cars
in Leeds to concert tickets at Wembley Arena, Elliott’s
voice has been used on many radio commercials and promotional
trails. He is comfortable with a full range of styles from hard-sell
to warm and sincere.
In September 2006 Elliott was voted as having
the sexiest voice in Birmingham, getting 72 per cent of the vote
after 1000 people were surveyed by the bed company Silentnight. |

You did an
amazing job
with the auction, helping us to raise nearly £25,000 for the
National Blind Children’s Society. I bet you didn’t realise
that one of our table of guests, come back year after year just to
see you in auctioneering action!” |
